Allentown, Pennsylvania, US
This auction is for one used Porsche 911/912 glove box door in good condition. The front face plate is not present, as shown in the photos. The elastic straps on the back of the door are slightly stretched. The chrome trim on the top of the handle and on the lock bezel are in very good condition with minimal wear (some faint scratching and minor pitting). The velvet backing has some cracking/tears in the upper two corners, as pictured. The key for the lock is not present. This glove box door came out of a Porsche 912, and I believe may also fit 1965-69 911s. This item is being auctioned by Specialty Cars. Lotus evolves with moving art
Wed, 10 Nov 2010WITH VIDEO -- With five new concepts dotting its stand at the Paris motor show, Lotus demonstrated that it knows a bit about metamorphosis. Now, the automaker has collaborated with French artist Gerard Rancinan and writer Caroline Gaudriault for a moving art display for a VIP event in Los Angeles. Rancinan specializes in art of the human form while Gaudriault is a journalist by trade who has worked in Japan, Australia and France.
Toyota sets Nurburgring record... for fuel economy
Wed, 16 Jul 2014WHATEVER else you might say about Toyota, it seems the brand has a sense of humour. Driving enthusiasts will hand their (petrol)heads in shame after Toyota completed the 12.9-mile German track at an average of 698mpg. The embarrassingly pedestrian time of 20 minutes and 59 seconds was set by motor journalist and Japanese car expert Joe Clifford, and since Toyota is the first to shame itself with a fuel economy run at the heart of performance car testing, it automatically sets a new efficiency record.
Volvo is working on cordless charging for electric cars
Thu, 31 Oct 2013Imagine not having to actually exit and plug in your electric car (assuming you have an electric car to plug in), and instead just parking it over a special parking spot. That's the promise of a new technology that Volvo is working on, and if taken to the mass market once made commercially viable, it means electric cars will be able to recharge just by sitting over a charger built into the parking spot's surface. That would certainly eliminate the need for those bulky upright chargers that are spreading around the country.
