76mm 14 Flute Oil Filter Wrench for Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, VW, Audi
This economy steel oil filter wrench works with most Porsches, many Mercedes, BMWs, Audis, and VWs with the removable element and 76mm 14 flute filter housing. We also sell a higher quality German manufactured die cast wrench recommended and sold by Porsche, but they tend to be heavily backordered due to demand. Check out our eBay store for that wrench, and other items. This steel wrench will do the job well, but typically it will wear out after several uses. We ship same day whenever possible.
This wrench will fit Porsche 1997-2012 996 997 Boxster/S, 2006-2012 997 Cayman/S, 1998-2012 911 996 997 Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera 4S, Turbo, 955 957 958 Cayenne, 970 Panamera, and alternative to Porsche P/N 000 721 920 40. We recommend however, that you measure your oil filter housing to be sure before purchasing.
This wrench also fits most 1984 and newer gasoline powered Mercedes-Benz, an alternative to Mercedes P/N 103 589 02 09 00, 1996 and newer BMW with the M44 engine, also many VW and Audi models from mid 1990s to current.
This wrench fits plastic housing based oil filters with the removable element on so many German made cars, that we haven't been able to compile anywhere near a complete list. We highly recommend that you measure the outside of your oil filter housing with an accurate ruler or caliper to be sure it's correct before you buy. The housing should measure 76mm (3 inches in diameter), and have 14 flats (flutes) around the perimeter. The wrench works with standard 3/8 square drive tools. It is wise to use this oil filter wrench with a torque wrench to drive it when reinstalling the oil filter housing. Porsche recommends a torque wrench setting of 19 foot pounds (25Nm).

Car-movie review: Drive Angry
Fri, 27 May 2011Drive Angry (on DVD and Blu-ray on May 31) starts and ends in the same place--the bowels of hell. Lead actor Nicolas Cage plays dead man on a mission, Milton, who breaks out of the unholy land--in a Buick Riviera--to rescue his kidnapped granddaughter. Along the way he meets Piper, played by Amber Heard.
One Lap of the Web: We invented the Miata!
Tue, 11 Feb 2014-- Sochi or bust! Is there anything more Russian than driving a Lada Niva to the Winter Olympics? (Flagrant corruption, perhaps.) Documentary producer Vlad Ketkovich calls the venerable Niva "the closest thing to an automotive version of the Russian soul," and we'd wager that the Niva belongs in quintessential Russian-ness next to the Bolshoi Ballet and the movie "Russian Ark." (Or "Ninth Company," if your attention span has been blown to bits.) -- A gorgeous Alfa Romeo ventures into the woods by itself.
