And it does a very creditable job, particularly for those drivers for whom quality of finish and lots of toys are much further up the list than driving dynamics. But despite there originally being a Lexus IS Estate – the Lexus IS SportCross – when the IS first launched in 2000, Lexus saw fit to drop that when the current IS turned up in 2005.

The Fiat 500C Pink convertible hits the UK - but only 300 of them Fiat have been busy doing what BMW have done with the MINI – and Audi seem intent on doing with the new A1 – namely churning out special editions all over the place to keep punters interested and make sales. And it seems to work.  Buyers like something that stands out from the crowd and of which there will be a limited run. Step forward the Fiat 500 Pink, launched by Fiat a few months ago in the UK and limited to just 500 units.

The New Saab 9-5 UK The start of 2010 saw a flurry of stories on Saab as the battle lines were drawn to see who would grab control of GM’s troublesome Swede. Eventually – after many false dawns – that fell to Dutch maker of quirky supercars Spyker who – much to the amazement of all – seem to have a very cohesive forward plan for Saab.
