Porsche 911 Story, 6th Edition, Evolution Of The 911, Paul Frere on 2040-parts.com
Orcas, Washington, United States
First introduced in 1963, the Porsche 911 went on to become a supercar, selling successfully worldwide for 35 years before being replaced at the end of 1997. The development potential of the car's famous flat-six, air-cooled engine was exploited to advantage over the years, and aided by technological advances developed on the racetrack, power output was pushed up from the original 130bhp to 408bhp (in the latest twin-turbo race car), and well above this in competition models. Here is the full, fascinating story of this timeless sports car, as told by engineer, journalist, top-flight racing driver and leading Porsche expert, Paul Frere. This hardback book tells the story of the evolution of the Porsche 911. It traces the development of the 911 in all its variants, detailing the bodies, interiors, engines, transmissions and suspensions. It also lists year-by-year changes, together with full technical and competition details. Like new condition. Hardback Edition: Revised and expanded Sixth edition from 1997 Pages 368 pages

Fri, 06 Aug 2010Scion vice president Jack Hollis is a former Stanford and AAA baseball player who, but for an injury, coulda been a contender, coulda played in the show. He's not one to boast--he didn't tell us of his baseball days, we got it from someone else. Nonetheless, you'd imagine the 6-foot-2-inch auto exec would have a pretty good self-image.
