Porsche 944/951 thermostat kit with removing tool (All Years)
We are offering the new Wahler thermostat with rubber seal + thermostat removing tool. With pump in the car do not try to remove thermostat retaining ring without this tool. It will not work. There is only 2 inch clearance between the pump's 2.5 inches intake and the radiator. The tool is small enough to slip right in to the pump and grab the ring.
PS. This procedure is not necessary, however, if you are "anal" about your work, you can unscrew the prongs from the tool and flip them around. The other side of the prongs is thicker. Slightly notch the inner side of the prongs using Dremil's small grinder wheel. Two notches (or groves) will keep the ring from slipping off the prongs while compressing.
