Up for Auction is my very gently used customer subwoofer purchased from Car audio Innovations in California.

We further customized the unit to enable you to secure it in the original factory location on the rear deck of your Porsche using the factory subwoofer mounting brackets.

I used this unit for a few years and enjoyed it.  I have only removed it as we went further and built custom subs into the rear floor of the car,

Original price was $699.  It comes with (2) JL Audio 6.5" Drivers model 6W3v3.

It is a 4ohm Subwoofer which makes it easier on smaller amplifiers.  I feed the sub with 300 watts.

Will play down to about 45 hz and produces a very clean and tight base.  More ideal for music quality.

If you need a small-format subwoofer that really delivers in extremely small enclosures, this is where your search ends. The 6W3v3 is a true subwoofer, through-and-through. It employs the same technologies as its larger diameter brethren to deliver a whopping 0.35 in. (8.9 mm) one-way linear excursion.

The 6W3v3-4 is best used with amplifier power in the 50W - 150W range and is optimized to operate in a tiny 0.15 cu. ft. (4.2 l) sealed enclosure, or a 0.25 cu. ft. (7.1 l) ported enclosure. Detailed enclosure recommendations can be found in the "Specifications" tab.

Will package well along with the bracket bolts used to install.

Summary:
JL Audio's Miramar, Florida loudspeaker production facility is one of the most advanced in the world.

Detailed Information:
At a time when most audio products are built overseas, JL Audio’s commitment to in-house loudspeaker production continues to grow. All W7’s, W6’s, TW5’s, TW3's, TW1's, W3v3’s and some of our ZR products. We also build our Marine Speaker Systems, Home Subwoofers, Stealthbox® products and the vast majority of our enclosed subwoofer systems in Florida.

To pull this off in a competitive world market, our production engineering team has created one of the world’s most advanced loudspeaker assembly facilities. This commitment to state-of-the-art technology allows our highly skilled workforce to efficiently build JL Audio products to extremely high quality standards.

While it is also feasible to build good quality products overseas (and we do build some of our products in Europe and Asia), it can be challenging when the product’s technology is innovative or complex. Since most of our premium loudspeakers incorporate proprietary, patented technologies requiring specific assembly techniques, we prefer that the people who design them have close access to the people manufacturing them.

Hyundai BlueOn (Hyundai i10 Electric) revealed

Sun, 12 Sep 2010

The Hyundai BlueOn EV Hyundai reveals the all electric Hyundai BlueOn in South Korea. With lots of fanfare about this being ‘South Korea’s first all electric car’ and intimating that Hyundai is fully committed to an electric future. Which of course is poppycock.

Marvel’s Captain America car by Daniel Simon [w/Video]

Tue, 04 Sep 2012

Automotive designer and futurist Daniel Simon has had his vehicle design from ‘Captain America: The First Avenger' featured in a short animation. This 10-wheeler 1942 supercharged V16 Coupe, the personal car of Marvel's villain Johann Schmidt (the Red Skull), is 7,620 mm long and was inspired by cars such as Mercedes' 540K and the G4. The director's instructions for the car's size  led to a truck chassis having to be used for the practical film version.

Renault Zoe EV gets cheaper – but only if you hardly use it

Sun, 02 Feb 2014

Renault Zoe EV (pictured) battery lease dropes to £45 a month The Renault ZOE eEV is one of the most affordable electric cars in the UK, with prices from £13,345 (after tax-payer bribe) plus a monthly cost for leasing the batteries from Renault. A bit like buying an ICE car and paying a monthly lease for the engine. But despite the Zoe’s ‘affordable EV’ tag, Renault has not had overwhelming success with the Zoe in the UK since it arrived last year, so they’ve come up with some new incentives to get car buyers to opt for their electric supermini.
