Porsche Boxster 987 Instrument Cluster Electrical Plug Connector Housing Replace on 2040-parts.com
Flatwoods, Kentucky, United States
You have probably removed the instrument cluster on your Porsche 987 or perhaps other models and in doing so the housing for the electrical plug in the rear of the panel has broken. Not the plug itself but the housing for the plug. Then you got online or called the dealer and found the your Porsche dealer doesn't sell the housing or the plug separately and the only way you can get it is buy the whole wiring loom for an exorbitant price and then take this housing off of the plug on the expensive wiring loom. Or maybe you found a used wiring loom for a used price just for this plug housing. Ouch! Well, if it is used then the plastic is aged and given to delicate handling or else it will break too! Not to worry. I have located a limited number of these plug housings that are new and have never been used. They don't have the Porsche part number printed on them but they are the same plug housing that the company used in building your Porsche. If your broken plug bears the Porsche part number 999.650.508.40, then this is your fix. Don't try to use your broken plug housing because there is a reason your broken plug had a locking lever on it. If that is broken or missing, the plug may come out during operation of your car and then you will be forced to disassemble the dash panels again to reconnect. Uggg! Repair it right the FIRST time!
