Ford offers $1 million in automotive design scholarships

After the passing of William Clay Ford Sr., Ford has announced that they will honor his memory and his contribution to the automobile with the creation of scholarships for automotive design students. William Clay Ford Sr., the last grandson of Henry Ford, died last week at the age of 88. Ford worked at the company that bears his name for 57 years, serving as chairman of the design committee for 32 of those years.

Exterior image of the 2010 Ford Mustang The new Mustang is very clearly a Mustang, but with more than a passing resemblance to the more modern American Muscle cars, like the Camaro. One of the big let-downs of Yank-Tanks has always been the poor interior. With dashboards that look (and feel) as if they’ve been made out of recycled Fairy Liquid bottles, and more shake, rattle and roll than Bill Haley, the interiors were always one of the main reasons us Brits just couldn’t live with the cars.

The Mercedes SLS AMG - the UK Promo Video below   Now that things are finally starting to Rock ‘n’ Roll for the new Mercedes SLS AMG – Mercedes actually started building it in January – we’re getting some UK-specific stuff, which makes a change from Auto Bild telling the world the SLS AMG is the best looking car in existence. Mind you, it’s not bad looking. The video we have here – which is the first UK SLS AMG push we’ve seen – is nicely lit and edited (even if there is some CGI in there) and it certainly does the SLS no harm on the looks front.
