Porsche OEM German Oil Filter Wrench for Porsche and Other German Cars

This professional die cast oil filter wrench works with most Porsches, many Mercedes, BMWs, Audis, and VWs with the removable element and 76mm (3") 14 flute filter housing.  The oil filter wrench tends to be heavily backordered due to demand.  Also, most Porsche drain plugs require a 8mm hex bit socket to remove and replace it. We offer this wrench as a set with a quality 3/8" drive 8mm hex bit socket in a separate listing.  Check our store listings for the 2 tool oil wrench set.  We ship same day whenever possible.

This wrench will fit Porsche 1997-2012 996 997 Boxster/S, 2006-2012 997 Cayman/S, 1998-2012 911 996 997 Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera 4S, Turbo, 955 957 958 Cayenne, 970 Panamera, and is sold by Porsche as P/N 000 721 920 40. We recommend however, that you measure your oil filter housing and drain plug to be sure before purchasing.

This wrench also fits most 1984 and newer gasoline powered Mercedes-Benz, an alternative to Mercedes P/N 103 589 02 09 00, 1996 and newer BMW with the M44 engine, also many VW and Audi models from mid 1990s to current.

This wrench fits plastic housing based oil filters with the removable element on so many German made cars, that we haven't been able to compile anywhere near a complete list.  We highly recommend that you measure the outside of your oil filter housing with an accurate ruler or caliper to be sure it's correct before you buy. The housing should measure 76mm (3 inches in diameter), and have 14 flats (flutes) around the perimeter.  The wrench works with standard 3/8 and 1/2" drive tools. It is wise to use this oil filter wrench with a torque wrench to drive it when reinstalling the oil filter housing.  Porsche recommends a torque wrench setting of 19 foot pounds (25Nm).

The previous 'C-' range of concepts that started in 2002 with the C-Airdream, swiftly followed by the C-Airlounge and C-Sportlounge. But there's a feeling that the this fourth car in the series was the one that showed the PSA design team at its flamboyant best.

BMW i8 production car revealed – costs £99,845: Frankfurt 2013

Tue, 10 Sep 2013

The new BMW i8 Hybrid (pictured) will cost £100k in the UK The BMW i8 jas finally arrived in production guise at the Frankfurt Motor show, neatly creating the top end of BMW’s new i-brand range after the BMW i3 underlined the starting point. Looking really quite appealing, the i8 uses the same carbon fibre reinforced plastic bodyshell and aluminium chassis construction as the i3, but whereas the i3 is built to be a city car, the i8 is the closest we’re likely to get to a 21st century version of the BMW M1. Similar in size to the Audi R8, the BMW i8 is a 2+2 with a 3-cylinder 1.5 litre engine and generator sitting at the back and driving the rear wheels and an electric motor at the front driving the front wheels, with a petrol tank at the back and the batteries for the electric motor stored in the centre tunnel.
