This is a "pure silk" head scarf worn a few times by a relative many decades ago.  It is combination of a bright red, a dark navy blue, and a creamy white set of colors.

I have not looked up the history of this particular model, number, or set of drivers.  I'm assuming that it was a 24 hours of Le Mans team from the 60's or 70's.  The signatures are part of the silk design and I tried to get a few photos that included them.

The tag reads:  "Soie Naturelle.  Pure Silk.  Reine Seide" on one side and it has some sort of symbols about washing care that includes 30 degrees Celsius.  There is no manufacturer info.  I measure the whole thing at 30 inches by 31 inches (yes, I checked that it wasn't quite square).

The first two photos show both sides.  There was identical lighting at the time, but they came out differently.  I cannot see any color difference between the two sides in reality.

There are a few faint spots when you inspect it closely.  The last four photos were attempts to show them.  I have no idea if they can be washed out, but I didn't notice them until I stretched it out under good lighting.  I mention them for anybody that wants to frame it ... remember, this has been worn a few times and stored with clothing ever since.

There is also one slight run which I didn't notice until I began typing this description.  I even have trouble finding it, so it's not an obvious thing.  Looking at the big 3 on the front of the car, it is just to the right and goes from the driver's headlight to the edge of the scarf (about 6.5 inches).

It feels very soft.

Ford announced today that the British sports car manufacturer would be sold and CAR has learned that Swiss-based Richemont and the French holding company LVMH have emerged as most likely to take on Aston despite having no previous experience in the car industry. Ford desperately needs to tap into the potential $700m-$1bn the sale of Aston could generate and hopes to finalise a deal by the end of the year.

Volvo develops new energy storage technology

Thu, 17 Oct 2013

Volvo is looking to make heavy batteries in electric vehicles a thing of the past, unveiling a new technology still under development that could use the body panels of the vehicle to store energy. Everyone knows that right now one of the biggest technological limiting factors of electric vehicles are the batteries. They can be damaged through depletion, they add weight, they use expensive and polluting technologies to manufacture, and they just don't hold as much energy as we'd like.
