2012 Honda Civic faces limited recall for possible fuel leak

Honda is recalling 1,156 copies of the redesigned 2012 Civic because of a potential fuel leak. A mechanical seal in the fuel line on some vehicles was misplaced during assembly, leaving a gap where two segments of pipe attach and allowing for the potential of leakage. No injuries or fires have been reported in relation to the glitch, and most of the affected vehicles are still in inventory and will be fixed before going up for sale.

Suzuki has launched the new Swift Sport. Based on the third generation Swift, the new Swift Sport is the first full model change since the launch of the original car in 2006. Chrysler Group has delayed introduction of a fuel-saving automatic transmission so it can make the shift patterns more palatable to U.S. drivers--the latest sign that a key tool in automakers' plans to meet tougher fuel-economy rules needs some fine-tuning. Two weeks ago, Ford Motor Co., which uses a similar dual-clutch transmission in its Fiesta and Focus, took a hit in Consumer Reports' annual reliability survey because many drivers complained about balky shifting.
