Ford has earmarked China as a key market for the Fiesta saloon – given China’s penchant for three-box bodystyles.  In fact, Ford is so serious about making the Fiesta a success in China that it will be built at a brand new factory in Nanjing. Musk says no recall after Tesla Model S fires

Following a series of collisions resulting in vehicle fires, Tesla Motor’s Elon Musk recently told Bloomberg that the electric Model S will “definitely” not be recalled by the automaker. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has agreed -- so far. NHTSA decided against a full investigation after the second Model S fire in October.

Ford future products: New vehicles get lighter, faster and move upscale

Ford Motor Co.'s future-product focus is on improved fuel economy by making its vehicles smaller and engines lighter without sacrificing performance, safety or luxury. It also wants to push the Ford brand more upscale to capture customers orphaned by the shutdown of the Mercury brand, and to attract new buyers with more product offerings. Ford has said 90 percent of its North American nameplates will be available with direct-injection turbocharged EcoBoost engines as standard equipment or as an option by 2013.
