BMW 1-series M Coupe (2011) teaser video
Tue, 31 Aug 2010BMW is continuing to build up the hype ahead of the launch of its next M car – this is a teaser video giving us our first glimpse of the undisguised BMW 1-series M Coupe What’s new is our first look at this hot 1-series’ butch bodykit, complete with an engorged front bumper and triple air intakes. There are CSL-alike 19-inch wheels too, and sitting between the cross-drilled front discs is a twin-turbo 3.0-litre straight-six, producing 335bhp and 369lb ft. Drive, thankfully, goes to just the rear wheels, and they’ll be a choice of either a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. There’ll be an M diff too, but we hear it might be on the options list as BMW’s money men fight to keep the list price under £40k.
Is this supercharged V8 destined for the Corvette ZR1?
Tue, 08 Oct 2013This is a big week for spy shots, and apparently a friend of a friend of a “friend” snapped this little ditty of what could be the motor of the next Z06, or ZR1. Corvette Online nabbed the shot of a supercharged LT1-looking V8 mill; they cite the injector cover shape and the throttle body. The site also noted the twin-rotor supercharger with an LSA/LS9-style pulley on the front.
Toyota FT-1 concept (2014) first official pictures
Mon, 13 Jan 2014By Ollie Kew First Official Pictures 13 January 2014 15:00 Toyota has stunned the 2014 Detroit motor show with this rakish racecar for the road. Called FT-1, it hints at a new flagship coupe model to sit above the much-loved GT86 in the current Toyota line-up. It’s now eleven years since the Toyota Supra went out of production: long enough for a reboot, we think.
