Brabus GLK V12 at Dubai
Sat, 12 Dec 2009The 750bhp Brabus GLK V12 I hold my hand up and say I am a fan of quick SUVs. It may seem a bit of an oxymoron, but some SUVs – like the Porsche Cayenne Turbo – do a very good job of being all things. Fun sports car; load carrier; junk mover and just about anything else you want.
MINI’s Olympic Marketing Masterstroke
Wed, 08 Aug 2012BMW has spent £40 million sponsoring the 2012 London Olympics, but it’s a small fleet of remote controlled MINI’s that provide the value. BMW has done all it can to promote its sponsorship of the 2012 London Olympics, and with a spend said to be in the region of £40 million, who can blame them? But it’s not just local shopkeepers and enthusiastic small businesses that are hamstrung by Olympic rules on advertising, the Olympic sponsors are too.
Victor Muller sells Spyker sports cars to CPP
Thu, 24 Feb 2011Supercar maker Spyker is to be sold. Coventry-based coachbuilder CPP has announced a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to buy Spyker Cars from Spyker Cars N.V, the holding company which owns Spyker and Saab. No. Saab remains under the ownership of Dutch company Spyker Cars N.V. This sale is of Spyker, the manufacturer of flamboyantly detailed mid-engined supercars. CPP has been supplying chassis and body panels for Spyker since the brand was relaunched in 2000, and completed an agreement to handle full manufacturing of the current range in 2009 – the production of Spyker cars moved from the Netherlands to Coventry in 2010. The MOU, valued at €32m, will mean that CPP Global Holdings Ltd will become manufacturer and owner of Spyker – €15m will be paid straight away, with the remaining €17m paid over a six year 'earn-out' period.
