Adaptive steering for big Fords arrives on new Edge

It's a further sign that what was once the high-tech preserve of the German brands is now firmly in the mainstream. BMW was one of the brands which pioneered variable-ratio power steering; in essence, it changes the ratio between the driver's inputs at the wheel and the rate at which turns are made at the rack.
Audi TT goes SUV: offroad concept revealed in Beijing
Sun, 20 Apr 2014Audi has revealed a bold TT crossover SUV at the Beijing Motor Show – and the offroad concept looks so complete and production-intent, we wouldn’t bet against this concept becoming a showroom reality sooner than we think. Audi’s technical boss Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg admitted at the big China show that the TT offroad concept was “a glimpse of how we might imagine a new model in a future TT family”, and that last word is crucial: this is the first clear sign that the TT is going to turn from a single model into a range of cars in its own right.
GM to build electric motors in-house
Mon, 25 Jan 2010General Motors will develop and build electric motors for a rear-wheel-drive hybrid to launch in 2013. GM claims to be the first major U.S. automaker to produce electric motors in-house and says it is investing $246 million in the project.
