Pre alpha one outdrive from a 260hp 1.47 ratio with 20/22 gears unit has been drained for shipment and the oil was clean and free of water and debris. A pressure test has also been done and the unit holds 10psi with no leaks the propeller shaft is straight with no noticeable wobble the unit goes in forward and reverse and spins freely by hand there is no major damage to the housing the skeg and cavitation plates are free of any damage. This unit should be serviced with new gear oil and a water pump impeller before being put into service. If you would like the outdrive media blasted and primed and or painted it will be an extra 225.00 and an extra 2 days handling time.

The Alfa Brera & Alfa Spider get new engines and a new trim option Alfa Romeo introduced new engine options last year on the Alfa 159 – the 1750iTBi Petrol engine and the 2.0 litre JTDm diesel – which are now about to find their way in to the Alfa Brera and Alfa Spider. Which is a far from bad move. The 1750i Turbo manages to deliver 200bhp and a decent amount of torque – 236lb/ft from only 1400rpm – which makes it distinctly brisk – 7.7 & 7.8 seconds respectively to 62 mph for the Brera and Spider.

Even with the latest lithium-ion batteries, the forthcoming 4.4-litre V8 petrol-electric version will struggle to match the astonishing 39.2mpg and 192g/km of CO2 of the new six-cylinder diesel, especially when BMW will launch stop-start technology for the whole range within two years. The hybrid is likely to cost several thousand more than the £65,000 it’s estimated you’ll need to buy the regular, twin-turbo 750i that goes on sale in November 2008.
