Frequently Asked Questions

Should I get a 4-button or 1-button? That's up to you. If you like your current keyless entry or need to keep your driver 1/2 settings from the remote, then a 1-button remote start while using your existing keyless entry would be a good choice. The downside obviously is that then you need to carry 2 remotes - even though the remote start one button is pretty small! If you would rather just carry one remote or don't have a factory keyless entry, then the 4-button is the perfect choice for you!

What else do I need? You will need basic tools and knowledge to remove interior panels, test wires, and properly connect to those wires. Parts wise you do not need anything else we include everything.

How long will installation take? It would take an expert installer about an hour. It would take a novice installer or a handy DIYer 2 - 4 hours. We are here to help if you run into any problems! You should be somewhat comfortable working with wiring and using a multimeter to complete this. If not, you would be better off having a pro install this kit for you. We provide all the parts, the vehicle info, and even vehicle pictures of where to find most of the wires - but we can't judge your skill level and whether or not you can install this. These units are the most installer friendly units out there. Programming is EASY, installation is straight forward, and they work great. If your not sure or have questions, just ask!

What's the difference between your regular and premium kits? Both kits are brand new, come with the same parts, and all the parts you need. The premium kits are a bit higher cost, but come ready to install. That means the bypass is already hooked to the remote start, all necessary wires are taped up and ready to connect, all unneeded wires have been cut and isolated. If you already have experience with remote starts either option is a great choice. The preprepped will save you some time and reduce any installation error, but the normal kits will save you some money. If your not too savvy with installing the preprepped are the way to go. You won't waste any time staring at the install guide and trying to figure out what wires you need and what ones you don't. The preprepped are the going to be the easiest install you will find if your going to do this yourself.

Why should I consider your kit over the other ones? These units are ROCK SOLID. We install a TON of them and they work GREAT. The range is FANTASTIC and they are RELIABLE. They have been in business for a long time and there's a good reason for that. We have been installing Code Alarm units for almost 20 years and they are EXCELLENT! Some of the other kits out there the instructions won't be in english, the systems are lower quality and won't last, the remotes are cheap and will fall apart on you. Even if you decide on another unit, take this advice - please stick with the popular name brands to avoid headaches down the road! Buying a system that is $10 less for your $30,000 vehicle doesn't make a lot of sense!

The Mini Spiritual Concept from the Rover years I guess you need to be old enough to remember the Morris Mini Minor to make any sense of the headline. When the Mini was launched in 1959 you could have it in two versions – the Morris Mini Minor or the Austin Seven. Which was not at allĀ unusualĀ in the old days of BMC/BL/British Leyland.
