The Remote Start: Crimestopper DS-1

Start your engine with the push of a button from up to 1500ft from your vehicle. The Cool Start DS-1 system is a 1-Way remote start system that uses (2) ultra-compact extended range 1-button transmitters to operate. Although there is no keyless entry feature on this system, the DS-1 has an unlock feature that allows the user to unlock the doors by pressing and releasing the start button once the engine is running. Other features include data ports, tachometer sensing and horn honk.

Data Start (DS) Series Features:

• Designed to work exclusively through the vehicle's CANBUS data system using a Data interface module (Fortin or ADS)
• Twin data ports to accommodate both Fortin and ADS data modules
• For use on data vehicles that start through data and require a data module for operation
• T-Harness plug-in of bypass module and directly connects to data port of DS controller
• Can be programmed as a 1-Way or 2-Way system
• 26 programmable options
• Extra wired outputs to operate parking lights and car horn

Bypass Module:

The Fortin EVO-FORT1 Bypass Module - Flashed specifically for these vehicles will temporarily override your vehicle's antitheft key only when the remote start is activated - leaving the antitheft system 100% functional. The bypass connects to the remote start through a data connection which eliminates a lot of the wiring traditionally associated with remote start installation. Unlike cheap generic bypasses, ours does not require you to leave a spare key in the car.

**Please Note: All bypasses for Ford/Lincoln/Mercury/Mazda vehicles require TWO valid keys for programming. Cloned/copied keys DO NOT WORK**

T-Harness

We include the T-Harness to reduce most of the connections that you would otherwise have to make without a harness. Although most of the connections are eliminated, this kit will still require up to 6 wire connections that are illustrated in our well documented tip sheets. We created our tip sheets to help customers simplify their installation step-by-step.

How detailed are the instructions?
Very. The remote start and interface module both come with installation manuals, but we've prepared a special step-by-step installation sheet that walks you through the entire installation.

What other parts will I need?
None. The kit comes with all the components you will need. The only things you'll need to provide basic supplies like electrical tape.

How long?
A pro installer can do this in under 2 hours. Your results may vary!

Does installing a remote start void my warranty?
No. If you properly install any aftermarket product in your car, the dealer cannot void your warranty simply because that product is there. If you were to do the installation incorrectly and cause damage, that would not be covered under your warranty.

I was told that adding a non-factory remote start would void my vehicle warranty. Is this true?
No – it is not true, and that’s Federal law. From the Federal Trade Commission website, “Simply using an aftermarket or recycled part does not void your warranty. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act makes it illegal for companies to void your warranty or deny coverage under the warranty simply because you used an aftermarket or recycled part”. Remote Starters & Alarms – The remote starters & alarms we offer all carry a limited lifetime warranty through the manufacturer. Physical damage or damage due to improper installation will void the manufacturer's warranty. Within the first year you can contact us for warranty issues. The product must be returned to us at the customer's expense in order for us to perform warranty service. After the first year, warranty issues must be handled directly through the manufacturer. The manufacturer will require a receipt from the original purchase. Product specific warranty information will be included with the product packaging.

Linear Actuators – Linear actuator carry a "No DOA" warranty. Each actuator is QC tested before it leaves our facility. If you receive a defective actuator, you must contact us within 30 days of receipt. Actuators that are damaged due to improper installation, overloading or running over the duty cycle will not be covered under warranty.

All Other Items – All other items carry a 1 year limited warranty either through MyPushcart or the product's manufacturer. The product is warranted to the end user, when properly installed and under normal conditions of use, to be free from defects in workmanship and materials for a period of one year from the provided date of purchase, to the original purchaser of the product. This warranty does not cover abuse, operation in a manner inconsistent with the product's design, or damage resulting from exposure to the elements. If the defect is considered "under warranty", MyPushcart will, at its option, repair or replace the product free of charge to the original purchaser. MyPushcart is not liable for any installation charges, loss or damage of any kind incurred in the replacement, repair of any warranted product.
