Chevrolet saves sinkhole Corvettes

CHEVROLET has taken on the job of restoring a number of classic Corvettes which were swallowed by a gaping sinkhole beneath the National Corvette Museum in Kentucky. General Motors' head of global product development, Mark Reuss, said today that the damaged vehicles are some of the most significant in motoring history. He said the company wants to restore as many of them as possible so car fans can enjoy them.

Saab secures more funds as it seeks to avert collapse

Saab parent Swedish Automobiles has found another financial lifeline in China as the struggling carmaker faces possible legal action from unions over unpaid wages. In a statement this morning, Swedish Automobiles announced that an un-named Chinese firm has placed an order for 582 Saab vehicles, valued at 13 million Euro (£11.5m) with full pre-payment 'expected to be made this week'.  Saab plans to use the funds to pay wages and begin partial payments to component suppliers in order to restart production. Top Gear Series 21 starts 2nd February Last weekend we brought you the first trailer for series 21 of Top Gear, although it basically consisted of Jeremy Clarkson moaning about lorries whilst driving a VW up! At that time, the BBC were still being cagey about when the new series of Top Gear (although we did expect it to start on 2nd Feb), but now BBC Media have managed to add it to their official schedule details so it’s now officially confirmed to start on 2nd Feb. Now we get a new trailer for the new TG Series, and this one is much more typical with mayhem and nonsense abounding including 1980s hot hatches, lorry racing, supercars, quad bikes on water, tanks and, of course, the McLaren P1.
