Saab says three new models are in the works

Saab says a new financial deal with Chinese companies Pang Da and Zhejiang Youngman Lotus gives it the cash to plan three new models. Saab's plan calls for: -- The 9-1, an entry-level car that has been known as the 9-2 until now. -- The 9-6 and the 9-7, which Saab says will be prestige vehicles.

Alfa Romeo MiTo Live launches

Alfa Romeo has launched a limited edition MiTo – the MiTo Live – with a Pioneer App radio and Marmalade ‘Black Box’ Insurance aimed at new drivers. So on the engine front the MiTo Live gets Alfa’s 875cc two-cylinder turbo – a crackingly good little engine – which delivers up a modest, but fun, 85bhp with emissions of 98g/km and the promise of 67.3mpg if you drive like a saint. Volvo, Geely working on shared architecture

Geely and its Volvo ward are working at developing a new compact car architecture that will be shared by both companies. For Volvo, this means a smaller luxury car, possibly a few. The platform will be modular, as is practically required in this day and age, ready to underpin different body styles or—if need be—an entirely new lineup.
