Dodge to get 40-mpg small car; touts mid-cycle product changes

Dodge is 14 months away from having a 40-mpg small car based on a Fiat platform. The tooling for that car was recently handed off to Chrysler Group's engineering department, Dodge CEO Ralph Gilles told journalists in San Francisco on Sunday. Future products: Hyundai's push will change the look of showrooms

Hyundai is introducing seven new or redesigned models in a 24-month stretch that ends in the fall of 2011. So naturally the Hyundai guys refer to their product onslaught as “24/7.” And the pace won't slow much after those seven models hit the streets. McLaren will charge £168,500 for the MP4-12C supercar in the UK. That's the new 2011 price, including the rise in VAT from 17.5% to 20% from 1 January. Today's news means that the MP4-12C will cost £1000 less than a Ferrari 458 Italia, its arch rival, at existing tax rates.
