Renault Megane RS 275 Trophy-R (2014): new Nurburgring challenger unveiled
Mon, 16 Jun 2014By Michail Karkafiris First Official Pictures 16 June 2014 09:00 The leaderboard among hot hatches for the Nurburgring lap record is changing aplenty at the moment – and the new Renault Megane RS 275 Trophy-R, unveiled today, has raised the bar again. It packs everything Renaultsport knows about hot hatchery into one tuned Megane RS. Think of the new RS 275 Trophy-R as the GT3 of Meganes, thanks to a 2.0-litre turbo tuned to 271bhp (275ps in metric, hence the name) and a crash diet stripping 100kg from its kerb weight for the sake of spicier performance and better handling.
Bentley’s biofuel Continental at Geneva 2009
Wed, 28 Jan 2009Bentley's biofuel Continental GT By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 28 January 2009 00:01 Can Bentleys ever be green? Bentley today released this single photo of a biofuel-powered new model that is designed to convince us that Crewe’s cars can survive in these carbon-crunched times. Very few details have been released – not even a name for this shadow-shrouded first image – but the car appears to be based on the Continental family, judging by that familiar snout.
Jaguar XF gets a few tweaks for 2014 MY
Tue, 11 Jun 2013The Jaguar XF gets a new engine and tweaks for 2014 In many ways the Jaguar XF is Jaguar’s most complete car, and significant updates since it launched in 2008 have kept it fresh and appealing. But the tweaks Jaguar has wrought for 2014 are relatively minor as the XF gets towards the end of its current cycle, the most significant of which is an upgrade to the 2.2 litre diesel engine. The 2.2 litre ECO2 engine is a replacement for the 161bhp entry-level diesel in the 2013 XF and gets revised cooling and bigger EGR valves which have conspired to improve official economy, and therefore reduce emissions (to 128g/km) handily putting the 2.2 XF in to a lower BIK band (down from 21 to 19 per cent).
