Honda Small Sports EV Concept at Tokyo Home Motor Shows are car makers’ favourites, so with the Tokyo Motor Show just round the corner Honda has revealed plans for seven concepts at the show including a small electric roadster and a plug-in hybrid – the Honda AC-X. Honda’s display at the Tokyo Show is going to be the biggest of any car maker. The headline act – certainly from a petrolhead’s point of view – is probably going to be Honda’s Small Sport EV Concept.

Following the Aveo RS concept’s appearance at Detroit eight months earlier, Chevrolet has revealed the new Aveo at the 2010 Paris motor show. It’s a homegrown model this time, too, replacing the rebodied Daewoo original of 2008. The supermini takes on the aggressive family face deployed so strikingly on Chevy’s tiny Spark and compact Cruze, and there are shake-ups in the engine and transmission departments, too.

British motor show axed for good?

The British motor show will not go ahead in 2012, the organisers confirmed today. The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders dashed hopes that the UK expo could return after the recession put stop to 2010's event - effectively ending over a century of UK motor shows. 'The British International Motor Show has been a tremendously successful showcase for the UK motor industry,' said SMMT chief exec Paul Everitt.
