Maserati GranTurismo

Thu, 22 Feb 2007

Maserati has released photos of their new coupe, the GranTurismo, in advance of its unveiling at Geneva next week. Designed by Pininfarina, the sketches also circulating were by Jason Castriota who penned the Maserati Birdcage concept shown in Geneva in 2005, before it turned heads at the Goodwood Festival of Speed that year. There is affinity between the two designs, and a more aggressive look than the current car designed by ItalDesign.

Back in February 2007, CAR ran a beautiful seven-page feature on Callum’s own project at the time: a lovingly restored 1932 Ford hot-rod. He’s been a fan of the rodding scene forever and back in 2001 he met Jon Golding of Home Grown Hot Rods.

"When we have partners across the ocean who are known as the best sports-car makers in the world, the future opportunities are huge," Dodge brand chief Ralph Gilles said in a release.
