2011 BMW 1 Series Facelift
Thu, 16 Dec 2010The BMW 1 Series Coupe & Convertible get a 2011 Facelift To be entirely accurate, the 2011 BMW 1 Series Facelift isn’t across the board – at least not yet. What we are getting – at the Detroit Motor Show next month – is a modest refresh to the cosmetics on the BMW 1 Series Coupe and BMW 1 Series Convertible plus a bit of an oily tweak. On the cosmetic front the 2011 1 Series gets some new light front and back – headlight tweaks, L-shaped tail lights and LEDs front and back – and a new splitter that BMW says creates an air curtain to improve CO2 and reduce drag.
Dakar Rally 2012 Day 3 update
Tue, 03 Jan 2012American Robby Gordon continues to hold second place overall at the completion of day three of the 2012 Dakar. Hummer driver Gordon, vying to make up for the delays suffered on Monday, completed the 129 competitive miles between San Rafael and San Juan in the Argentine Andes with the fifth-fastest time. His teammate and defending Dakar champion Nasser Al-Attiyah was third-quickest and moves into sixth position overall, having dropped precious time on day one with a loss of oil pressure.
Jaguar reveals 'brand-new' Lightweight E-Type
Tue, 12 Aug 2014This is a brand-new Lightweight Jaguar E-Type, exactly as it would have been if it had left the Browns Lane factory gates in Coventry way back in 1963. It’s not a restoration, either, but a totally fresh, zero miles car that will make its world debut later this week at the Pebble Beach Councours d’Elegance 2014. Back in May, Jaguar announced that it would finally build the remaining six "missing" Lightweight E-Types (originally developed for racing) that it never got round to in the 60s – now they’re here.
