We have another used Quartermaster EVO 8 Leg with NEW Premium 10 Spline 7-1/4" Triple Disc Clutch. This new style triple disc clutch setup sells new for $1865.00. Unlike the older style Quartermasters these do not have the loud rattle and chatter. They have more of a very faint rattle about 1/3 the noise of the older style Quartermasters. This new style is not as harsh on first gear engagement. The older style takes a good amount of getting used to especially to the first time triple disc owner. High RPM shifting has also improved. There is a noticeable difference when shifting in the high rpms as opposed to the older style QM's. Friction Material- One of Quartermaster goals was to make a friction material that will last longer and boy did they. It lasted about 1/3 longer than the older style QM's. Also a huge reduction in clutch dust build up in the bell housing which can build up on the hydraulic release bearing causing the bearing not to slide freely. Leg Design- QM has upgraded to an 8 leg design that is integrated into the flywheel, not the clutch cover. A problem we noticed with the older style QM's was that the floaters would wear into the legs of the clutch cover especially on higher horsepower cars. Once that happens you will have shifting and lock out problems due to the clutch not disengaging properly due the the floaters getting caught up on the cover. Problem solved with the new QM race version clutch. Hub Design- Unlike the older style QM's the new race version has one center hub as opposed to two individual hubs. The premium discs have 8 heavy duty lugs instead of the early 6 lug design. It weighs 9.90 pounds without your flywheel.

General Motors is recalling 13,780 of its 2010 and 2011 Buick Lucerne and Cadillac DTS vehicles because of a risk of fire caused by a steering fluid leak. Nissan is recalling 605,000 of its cars for issues with the steering column and batteries. Meanwhile, Chrysler is recalling 16,000 Jeep Liberty SUVs that have a faulty windshield-wiper system.

Drivers waste £1.9 billion on insurance

A TOTAL of £1.9 billion is being wasted by drivers in the UK who automatically renew their car insurance without shopping around for the best deal. A study has found 2.4 million drivers in the UK don’t bother to compare quotes to get the best deal when their car insurance comes up for renewal. The research by Moneysupermarket.com found 8.6 million drivers in Britain could be better off by up to £220 per year each if they moved to a new insurer.

The Marauder lays waste a wall We knew the Hamster was off to South Africa to play with a vehicle that made the Hummer look like a Tonka Toy. And we knew – because they ‘hinted’ at it when we spoke to them last week – that the whole Top Gear segment had more than a little to do with the Paramount Group in South Africa, purveyors of innovative armoured vehicles. So, as suspected, we were treated to Richard conquering the Urban Jungle of Johannesburg in the Paramount Marauder, an aptly-named, go anywhere, seemingly indestructible piece of military hardware made street-legal.
