The RaceQuip 120 series multi-layer pant is made up of an outer layer
of durable Pyrovatex(R) FRC, backed by a layer of Nomex, then lined by
another layer of Pyrovatex. Pyrovatex offers the maximum combination of
overall flame and heat protection, durability and comfort for the price.
This FRC material retains the softness and breathability of cotton and
will wick away moisture from the skin. Pyrovatex fabric is gentle and
non-irritating to even the most sensitive skin. The treatment process
leaves the exterior surface shiny and supple. Since the Pyrovatex
treatment is absorbed into the cotton fibers, with proper care; the
garment will retain its flame retardant properties beyond the useful
life of the garment.
All pants are assembled with heavy-duty,
multi-needle, over-lock safety stitch machines to provide exceptional
seam strength. All pants feature a high quality, heavy-duty two-way YKK
zipper built on FR tape installed with a double overlap for a more
secure front opening. Stylish contrasting full-length leg stripes. The
black accents: high-back leg cuffs, and epaulets give RaceQuip pants a
unique look and style. Add to this the pleated back panel for freedom of
movement, boot cuffs, deep bag pockets and you have a multi-layer pant
that provides an outstanding value. Meets or exceeds SFI 3.2A/5 specs with a TPP rating of 25.
The safest suit for maximum fire protection is a loose fitting one. A
suit's fire protection capability is directly related to the fit of the
garment. A properly fitted racing suit will have small air gaps in
between the body and the garment. A suit worn too tightly will compress
these air gaps- allowing heat to reach the skin faster.
An
additional consideration should be the position the garment will be worn
in. Specifically, the clamshell orientation of the driving position
requires additional material in order to prevent tugging the wearer. This is especially important when wearing a one piece suit.
A racing suit that fits well while standing may not fit comfortably
when seated and harnessed into a racing seat. It is important to account
for this when selecting a suit: ensure you are the lower end of the
range for a particular size to ensure that there will be enough material
to prevent the suit from tugging when seated.

A mildly revised Mazda MX-5 for 2013 will be launched later this year with a new nose and tweaks to the brakes and throttle systems. It’s probably a bit of an exaggeration to call the 2013 Mazda MX-5 a facelift. In truth, it’s only really getting a slightly modified nose.

The Jaguar C-X17 Concept (pictured) teased for Frankfurt
We’ve been pretty sure for some time that a Jaguar SUV Concept (or, really, a Jaguar Crossover Concept) will arrive at the Frankfurt Motor Show this month. And so it is. The Jaguar C-X17 Concept is being teased today, and it’s clear this is Jaguar’s new, small Crossover aiming to take a much bigger slice of the world’s premium market than anything else currently in the Jaguar range.

Audi has updated its R8 flagship to keep up with the relentless pace of the supercar class. There are several minor visual tweaks to keep the now-six-year-old R8 looking fresh, and a substantial revision under the nip-and-tucked skin to improve performance. The new 2012 Audi R8 is available in coupe and open-top Spyder bodystyles from late 2012.
