The RaceQuip 120 series multi-layer suit is made up of an outer l ayer of durable Pyrovatex FRC, backed by a layer of Nomex , then lined by another layer of Pyrovatex . Pyrovatex offers the maxi mum combination of overall flame and heat protection, durability and comfort for the price. This FRC material retains the softness and breathability of cotton and will wick away moisture from the skin. Pyrovatex fabric is gentle and non-irritating to even the most sensitive skin. The treatment process leaves the exterior s urface shiny and supple. Since the Pyrovatex process combines a chemical agent with the raw cotton fibers to create a bond at the molecular level, with proper care; the garment will retain its f lame retardant properties beyond the useful life of the garment. All suits are assembled with heavy-duty, multi-needle, over-lock safety stitch machines to provide exceptional seam strength. All suits feature a high quality, heavy duty Nomex backed brass YKK zipper on FR tape installed with a double overlap for a more secu re front opening. Stylish contrasting armband stripes match the f ull-length leg stripes. The black accents: high-back collar, leg and arm cuffs, epaulets and beltline, give RaceQuip suits a uniqu e look and style. Add to this the pleated back panel for freedom of movement, boot cuffs, deep bag pockets and the adjustable euro -style belt, and you

Concept Car of the Week: Citroën C6 Lignage (1999)

Fri, 19 Jul 2013

By the late ‘90s, the bold but ageing Citroën XM was becoming irrelevant compared to the freshly updated German sedans. The press even started to suggest the XM would be the last high-end car to carry the double chevron. What they didn't know was that the designers were already working on the next model, although that wouldn't be ready until few years later.

Lamborghini Egoista revealed at Lamborghini’s 50th Anniversary celebrations UPDATED

Sun, 12 May 2013

The Lamborghini Egoista (which translate as the Lamborghini ‘Selfish’) gets its name because it is designed as a single seater, purely for the pleasure of the driver. Designed by Walter De Silva, the Egoista sports dramatic styling that is said to be inspired by the Apache helicopter (and isn’t entirely successful – the Apache looks better) and extensively uses carbon fibre with a canopy that can be removed for real single-seat fresh air thrills. Power comes from the Gallardo’s 5.2 litre V10, although so far all Lamborghini has done is release a single photo of the Egoista (above), so we don’t yet know whether the Egoista will be a one-off special like the Aventador J, a short run at silly prices like the Veneno or just a concept that will never see the light of day again.

Mr Gran Turismo speaks on the eve of GT5's launch

Thu, 21 Oct 2010

The fifth instalment of the Gran Turismo PlayStation epic has slipped back from 5 November, probably to the first week of December 2010. But this month’s CAR Magazine – on sale now – reveals the new game’s hero car, the ultimate track racer designed by Red Bull and GT coders Polyphony. The 249mph racer, the Red Bull X1 prototype, is a collaboration between legendary F1 designer Adrian Newey and Kazunori Yamauchi, the genius behind Gran Turismo.
