RaceQuip FIA Camlock Harness Sets feature an ultra-lightweight magnesium alloy cam buckle with an activation lever that points downward. The FIA cam buckle utilizes a wide engagement cone for easy snap-in. A 45˚(right or left) unlatch movement prevents accidental opening and precise spring pressure provides a positive feel. All RaceQuip FIA Approved belts are constructed using premium 3” Polyester webbing that is transverse mono filament woven to provide increased strength and smoother edges. The RaceQuip 751 Series Camlock belt set offers many professional features yet affordable pricing for the grassroots racer. This Camlock belt set comes in a six (6) point configuration with a pull-down lap belt design. The harness sets not only exceed the SFI 16.1 specification, they also pass the stringent FIA 8853/98 standard. This “dual certification” allows racers in some sanctions (SCCA, NASA, etc.) to use these belts for five years instead of just two. We start with a super-lightweight 165 gram magnesium alloy cam buckle. The buckle features an engagement cone which allows the belts to snap into the cam mechanism at angles of 21˚ left or right and 11˚ up and down for ease of engagement. Precise internal spring pressure allows a positive feel on the 45˚ (right or left) unlatch movement that reduces the chance of accidental opening. Next, the forged SAE 4130 steel buckle hardware is sewn onto the premium 3” polyester webbing, called “transverse mono filament woven”, which means that there are mono filament fibers inter-woven into the straps in a pattern that transverses the standard weave. This design accomplishes two tasks - added strength and smoother edges on the belts. The harness sets also feature premium, lightweight, non-slip aluminum shoulder adjusters with easy lift grips. The lap belt adjusters utilize an anti-slip tensioner device as well. Heavy-duty forged steel SAE 1050 3" slide bars and 3" bolt on ends come already installed, but they can be easily removed if you prefer to mount your belts by wrapping them around a rollbar or you can change them out to snap-hook ends. Belt adjustment lengths are 20” to 68” for shoulders and 20” to 68” for the lap belt. Megane Renaultsport 265 Trophy and the Nurburgring crew
First we get the news that Renault has pushed out a limited edition Megane Renaulsport – the Megane Renaulsport 265 Trophy with a slightly tweaked and titivated version of the Megane Renaultsport 250 – and now we get the follow-up publicity with the claim of a new Nurburgring record for the brisk Megane. This isn’t a record that’s quite as daft as some of the records that are claimed for the Nurburgring (there almost seems to be a specific category of ‘Record’ time to fit every car maker’s needs), but it does seem a bit obscure. It’s the Nurburgring record for the fastest production front wheel drive car.

The Vauxhall Astra VXR EXTREME (pictured) is heading for a Geneva debut. The VXR range of Vauxhall’s – the sportiest of Vauxhall’s car range – is ten years old this year, so what better way to celebrate than with an even more extreme version of the Astra VXR. Vauxhall obviously agree as they’ve revealed the Vauxhall Astra VXR EXTREME as the new top of the range Astra VXR and it’s heading for a debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March before going in to limited production.
