We had wondered if we’d see a concept of the Audi Q5 Cabriolet at Beijing as Audi rushes to match the Evoque’s niche offering of a drop-top SUV. But it seems the Q5 news for Beijing, apart from the arrival of the Q5 RS Concept, is a facelift for the Q5 – although you’ll need to look hard to see it.

The lightweight two-seater is powered by Vauxhall’s turbo 2.0-litre unit – lifted from the Astra VXR – and it’s priced at £29,495. Err, yes – we also feel the SC250’s looks might be a bit of a stumbling block to someone about to flash the best part of £30k on a track-based racer.

Mercedes removed Lieb over compliance issue, report says

Daimler AG dismissed Mercedes-Benz USA chief Ernst Lieb for violations of human resources and ethics policies relating to household expenses paid by the automaker, The Financial Times reported Wednesday, citing sources close to the company. Lieb was abruptly removed as head of the automaker's second-largest market on Oct. 17 after more than 30 years at Daimler.
