A fuel surge tank (FST) is designed to prevent fuel starvation to the engine on vehicles with inadequate fuel tank baffling. The FST fuel pump(s) feed the fuel rail(s). The volume of fuel inside the surge tank acts as a buffer to always keep the FST pump(s) supplied with fuel. This volume is maintained by the main fuel tank's pump as well as the fuel returning from the fuel pressure regulator. Excess fuel in the surge tank is returned back to the vehicle's main fuel tank. The surge tank also provides a quick and easy way to upgrade any standard fuel system without opening the stock fuel tank. This is an excellent fueling solution for vehicles installing large demand power upgrades such as forced induction.

The Multi-Pump Fuel Surge Tank Includes:

-Machined 6061 Aluminum Canister
-Removeable O-Ring Sealed 6061 Aluminum Caps
-Anodized and Laser Engraved
-6AN O-ring Sealed Fittings
-Calculated and Optimized Fuel Volume
-Stainless Steel Hardware
-Extra Machining for Weight Savings
-Mounting Feet for Uneven Surface Installations
-24" Flying Lead Color Coded Wiring Harness
-Installation Instructions

The Radium Engineering Multi-Pump FST is constructed from 100% CNC machined 6061-T6 aluminum. It is anodized for long lasting protection from corrosive fuels such as ethanol.

The MPFST can be configured to use up to three fuel pumps. The Walbro F90000274 E85 pumps are shown above. The pumps are mounted using an anodized aluminum bracket. The fuel pump filter socks are retained. The FST incorporates a multi-pin high amperage sealed electrical bulkhead connector. All internal wires are gasoline, ethanol, and methanol compliant. The internal hoses are a special fluoroelastomer formulation that resists permeation internally and externally making it submersible in all types of fuel.

Fittings
Green fittings signify the fuel pump outlets. These are bespoke adapters which are only available in -6AN male. The remaining black port fittings are used for fuel entering and exiting the tank. These are included in -6AN male as well. However, if -8AN and/or -10AN port fittings are required, they can be purchased separately. If only 2 pumps are used, a plug is included to cap the unused fuel pump outlet fitting.

Selection:

The MPFST is available without pumps and prepped for the user to install their own pumps.

If pumps are needed, the surge tank will come pre-assembled with sock filters installed. Please select the preferred combination of pumps from the list. The MPFST is sold in 2 or 3 pumps configurations. If a single pump is required, please see our other FSTs available in the store.

Peugeot Exalt concept to bring shark skin suit to Beijing

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

Peugeot has 'accidentally' leaked an image of its Exalt concept car ahead of its debut at the Beijing auto show next Sunday. The four-door sedan follows the form language introduced by the 2010 SR1 concept, but is perhaps most closely related to the Onyx of 2012 in terms of execution if not format. As with the Onyx, the Exalt features a series of innovative, natural materials – something PSA design director Jean-Pierre Ploué confirmed to Car Design News would become a Peugeot hallmark – including an exterior surface finish inspired by shark skin.

Wide-ranging, weird and wonderful John Scotti Collection to cross block in Auburn

Mon, 28 Apr 2014

The John Scotti Collection is, we'd like to think, exactly the sort of assemblage of cars we would put together were we a mechanic who earned his fortune building a group of successful Montreal-based car dealerships. To be sure, the collection of roughly 450 cars represents Scotti's tastes, which seem to tend toward the muscular. But the man, who sells everything from Mitsubishis to Lamborghinis, did an admirable job branching out from the standbys that seem to fill the ranks of every large collection, finding room for both the commonplace and the strange.

2013 Lincoln MKZ spotted beside its predecessor

Tue, 09 Oct 2012

We've seen the 2013 Lincoln MKZ on the road before sans camouflage, but it's the company that this particular MKZ is keeping that makes these photos notable. Snapped by Autoweek reader Jon McCrary in Traverse City, Mich., the pictures show the upcoming 2013 MKZ next to a current-generation MKZ. The contrast is striking.
