Last night Mercedes-Benz launched its new S-Class sedan in the delivery hall of Airbus in Hamburg and Car Design News was there to get the low-down on this eagerly-awaited limo. Context was fittingly provided by an A380 lounging in the background as the current lineup of Mercedes-Benz escorted Benz's big boy onto the stage, amidst artificial fireworks and real thunder and lightning.

The annual World Solar Challenge is taking place right now. 38 teams from all round the globe are racing 3,000km (1,864 miles) across Australia using energy from the sun alone. Spanish site diariomotor.com found some undisguised pictures of the redesigned 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-class. The styling seems to follow the E- and S-class with hints of the CLA-class as well; the sport model wears its badge in the grille, while the luxury model opts for a hood ornament. The 2015 C-class will launch in the fall of 2014.
