This is an NOS (New Old Stock) Left Rear Door Lock Assembly, Rambler/AMC Part Number 3447073. According to the Rambler/AMC Parts Manual, this item fits 1961 Rambler American 4-Door Sedan and 4-Door Station Wagon Models. It cannot be seen in the picture, but the item has manufacturing and shelf handling scratches, marks and some light to some moderate shelf corrosion on its' metal surfaces. The lock assembly will also have to be cleaned and lubricated before installation onto the vehicle. The lock assembly is still in usable condition. In what's regarded as a major boost for Korean car maker Kia, it has been confirmed that Peter Schreyer will be moving from Volkswagen AG to lead Kia's global design operation. Schreyer will oversee the design activities of the company's regional design centers in Frankfurt, Los Angeles and Tokyo as well as the Namyang Design Center in Korea. While Schreyer's move to Kia comes across as a big surprise for many within automotive design circles, his departure from Volkswagen doesn't.

The famous ‘Le Mans start’ Since the race’s inaugural meeting in 1923, tradition dictated a standing start. This later became known as a ‘Le Mans start’, and involved drivers lining their cars up along the pit wall in the order they qualified in. Racers would then have to stand on the opposite side of the track, and when the French Tricolor flag dropped the drivers would have to sprint to their cars, strap themselves in and begin racing.
