Rambler Amc Under Dash Ac Control With Thermostatic Switch! on 2040-parts.com
Danville, Virginia, US
Offered here is the very hard to find Rambler under dash AC control unit. It's a chrome box with the fan switch in it. The box itself is in fair shape, but its real value is that the capillary tube to the thermostatic switch appears to be intact. Usually they are broken off and thereby ruined. I have no way of testing it, so I can't be absolutely sure that it works, but the end is closed and there don't appear to be any holes or cracks. This is the control for 63-64 Classics and Ambassadors, and I think works all the way up to 67 for those cars. It may also fit Americans, but I'm just not sure. If you have a Rambler with AC, you need a backup one of these, because I don't think they are reproducing any switch that works! It also has the fan switch in it, but I don't know if that works, but they are easy to get. I always liked these, because it has a setting for "Desert Only," wherein the thermostat is bypassed for low humidity conditions such as deserts. The thermo is in there in the first place because the system will cool so much in high humidity that it will freeze the water in the air around the evaporator. That's the little puddle of water you see under the car in the summer-melted ice from the evap.

McLaren P1 gets 903bhp
Wed, 20 Feb 2013McLaren has revealed that their new supercar – the McLaren P1 – will deliver 903bhp and have emissions below 200g/km. The McLaren P1 will get 727bhp from its 3.8 litre V8 with an additional 176bhp coming from an electric motor for a combined power delivery of 903bhp, with the V8 contributing 531lb/ft of torque and the electric motor an instant 192lb/ft for a combined torque of 664lb/ft at 4000rpm. The boost from the electric motor is instantly available at the flick of a button on the steering wheel – McLaren call it Instant Power Assist System (IPAS) – which instantly throws more additional power to aid the McLaren’s V8 than a pair of Fiestas can manage.
Car insurance 'ghost broker' jailed
Tue, 29 Oct 2013A "GHOST BROKER" from south-west London has been jailed at the Old Bailey for what is believed to be the UK's biggest fake car insurance scam, police said. Danyal Buckharee created four websites offering cheap car insurance and used paid-for advertising to ensure his online enterprises appeared at the top of internet searches. Between May 2011 and April last year he used the websites to dupe 600 drivers into buying worthless policies over the phone, the investigation by City of London Police's Insurance Fraud Enforcement Department (IFED) found.
Saab struggles with bills – Vladimir says it’s all fine
Thu, 31 Mar 2011The Saab production line grinds to a halt as components run out I think we all hoped that after the long, painful transition from GM ownership in to new hands at Spyker that things would settle down and Saab would get back to making cars instead of headlines. But it seems not. Just a few days ago we had news that lifetime Saab man and CEO of Saab Jan Åke Jonsson is to step down in May, together with the news that Saab lost €140 million in 2010.
