Offered here is the extremely hard to find 1971 only AMX and Javelin center dash piece.  It differs from the 72-74 ones in that it has a door over the cigarette lighter and ash tray, whereas the others do not have the door, nor the holes for it to fit in. It has some cracks in it, as shown in the pics, but they are so hard to find that I don't want to throw it away if someone can use it. It has a large perfectly round hole in it where someone had a dealer air conditioning duct running through it.  I was going to put a courtesy light in there, but used a different one that did not need repair.  Sold as-is. In the Javelin/AMX world, the only two harder to find things are the 71 or 72 grille and the 71 or 72 back up light lens. It's large and fragile, which accounts for the high shipping costs.

CAR interviews BMW design chief Adrian van Hooydonk (2009)

Tue, 03 Nov 2009

By Guy Bird Motor Industry 03 November 2009 09:22 CAR: Chris Bangle once told a great story about sending BMW designers to study with an origami master to gain influence. Judging by the Vision EfficientDynamics concept it looks like you were on that trip? Adrian van Hooydonk: I didn’t go along but in the recent past our designers have experimented with a lot of things – folded metal, folded paper, even plywood – and on this concept car maybe all of that came to fruition.

Volvo S60 DRIVe & V60 DRIVe launch

Tue, 22 Feb 2011

The Volvo V60 DRIVe This week we’re out playing with a Volvo DRIVe model, although our car is the S40 DRIVe. DRIVe models are Volvo’s push at all things green (or all things blue if you’re German) and take a regular Volvo and eco the bejesus out of it with stuff like stop-start, low rolling resistance tyres and the plethora of eco-toys car makers use to make the headline economy and emissions unbelievable. The result is a Volvo that drives pretty much the same as any Volvo but which can – as long as you play the eco-driving game – run almost on fresh air, and because cars like this are designed to hit emissions targets on official cycles, they’re also good on stuff like VED and BIK. And if the S40 DRIVe we’ve got this week is anything to go by, you can still drive with enthusiasm and enjoy it as long as you don’t mind the economy suffering.
