Here is a Lucas HF1849 horn that was specified for Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite and the early years of Mini Cooper cars. These were canceled by Lucas back in the 1970s and no reproductions have been made. They are made from stamped steel with a cast alloy outer rim, very susceptable to corrosion, and were mounted low on the radiator brace on the Bugeye Sprite, directly in the path of water and slush coming off the right wheel. That unfortunate placement meant most used ones became worthless to restore as they were eaten up by corrosion. This one is in good original condition, ready to mount on a driver car. It has the original type bullet connections for the wires, so is ready to install. The sound these make is very distinctive, sort of resembling a goat with his private parts caught in a barbed wire fence. No other horn makes quite the same sound. Peugeot Onyx concept [w/Gallery]
Wed, 12 Sep 2012Peugeot has previewed its Onyx concept, set to debut at this month's Paris motor show, just days after the first teaser images were released. Very much a supercar in terms of its proportions and form, the Onyx is not the first time Peugeot's previewed super and super-sports cars in concept form, but the Onyx looks a lot more promising than previous efforts, from these photos at least. Conforming to the modern, eco-conscious supercar norm, the Onyx features a hybrid drivetrain - following in the footsteps of the BMW i8, Honda NSX and Jaguar CX-75. Peugeot's stated aim is to push itself upmarket and become a more premium brand, so the Onyx could be read as a sign that the company feels it needs more of a 'halo' car in order to achieve that aim.

Best petrol price falls since 2008
Fri, 18 Oct 2013MOTORISTS are enjoying the biggest fall in petrol prices since the credit crunch days of 2008. But the AA has warned that a further dip in prices is unlikely. Average petrol prices in the UK fell 5.49p a litre between mid September and mid-October - the biggest monthly fall since the 11.5p petrol price collapse in November 2008, the AA said.
