Up for sale here is a very rare nicely rebuilt  4 barrel Holley List# 1405 600cfm 4150 style with dual metering blocks with auto heat choke! According to the book this carburetor is rated at a conservative 600cfm, and will work most all 1957-64 Fords, that being said it will work with many, many different 4 barrel square bore intake manifolds, so please do your own research before making your purchase(also found info that it was for a 1958 Mercury 430 a/t??)! This carburetor has been professionally disassembled, and rebuilt to Holley factory specs with all Holley gaskets, and is a very rare find! This carburetor will come with 3 fuel inlet fittings with transfer tube, and one intake to carb gasket as seen pictured, ready to bolt on and go. Please double check your application before making your purchase, as this carburetor is rated at 600cfm, and packs a punch! I am not sure if this was an original carburetor to a specific vehicle, or a universal over the counter replacement carburetor, none the less it is a beautiful vintage carburetor, and with the cooper transfer tube, with cooper vent tubes this carburetor is a real head turner!

This is a great universal carburetor ready for cruising the strip! As always feel free to send me an email should you have any questions. Please check out my other listings for more great deals. Local pickup is always welcome!

Holley rebuild kit pictured is not included, and is only to display the kit used for the rebuild!

Concept Car of the Week: Plymouth XNR (1960)

Fri, 22 Feb 2013

In the early ‘50s, both GM and Ford offered attractive and exciting sports cars, symbols of a proud post-war America. Ford had the Thunderbird and GM the Corvette, but Chrysler's approach was more pragmatic, producing cars that were practical and robust but also slow. After commissioning a long series of concepts designed by Italian carrozzeria Ghia, Chrysler gave a free hand to its design chief Virgil Exner to inject some life into its lineup.

Mazda3

These are the first images of the new Mazda3 sedan, set to make its public debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. This is the first complete redesign of the Mazda3 (known as Mazda Axela in Japan) since its introduction five years ago. Utlizing design cues first seen in its larger sibling, the Mazda6, the dynamic redesign adds an air of masculinity to the small Mazda3, a car which, according to the Japanese company, has 'had every element developed for heightened exhilaration'.

Mercedes AMG engine guru to join VW

Fri, 18 Jan 2013

The man credited with development of Mercedes-Benz AMG's latest line of high performance gasoline engines, Friedrich Eichler, has been lured to the Volkswagen Group, where he will take up an as yet unspecified position this summer, sources with knowledge of the move tell Autoweek. Eichler, who joined AMG after working his way up through the ranks at Porsche, was instrumental in the development of AMG's naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8, twin-turbocharged and naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V8 and twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 that powers the Pagani Huayra. Friedrich Eichler also developed turbocharged four-cylinder engines for upcoming Mercedes AMG cars.
