Rare Vintage Beck Motorcycle Jacket 1950s_all Original With Shoulder Stars on 2040-parts.com
Fresno, California, US
This rare Beck one star motorcycle jacket was purchased by my father while we lived in Los Angeles during the early 1950's. It has only been worn a few times. He bought the jacket between 1948 and 1954. We moved to Fresno in 1956 and he stopped riding soon after. The jacket has very little in the area of "wear" signs. There are no heavy creases in the leather and it appears new. There are no scuffs, scratches or stains to the leather. There are no snags or stains in the satin quilted liner. There does appear to be some loss in the leather coloring on the two straps on the lower front of the jacket. This is sown on the last picture. The original sizing tag is still stapled inside the jacket. If he had worn it much, it would have come off with use. The label in the collar is an early 50's label and unusual in design. It is quite different from most Beck labels that are usually seen. It has a graphic cartoon style design depicting a country scene featuring a WWII era motorcycle and airplane. The text says "Northeastern Flying Togs. BECK". It is a size 44 in EXCELLENT condition. All zippers, snaps, stars, label, etc. are original. There is nothing missing. All zippers work and snaps work as they were originally intended. The measurements are as follows. But, everyone has a different way of measuring so the "exactness" may vary some from one description to another. The chest, from one underarm seam to the other, measures 44". The shoulders across the back measures about 19" WITHOUT the pleats expanded. The back measures 25 1/2" down the center back from the collar seam to the bottom of the jacket. The sleeve measures 24" from the shoulder seam down the arm to the cuff edge. As the jacket has a slight taper to the body, the body below the chest measures 42" around. First Jaguar F-Type customer cars leave Jaguar’s Castle Bromwich
Fri, 10 May 2013The first proper sports car from Jaguar since the E-Type ended production almost 40 years ago (and it could be argued the later V12 E-Types were more a GT than a proper sports car), the F-Type is a hook to hang Jaguar’s future intent on – and it seems to be making a pretty good fist of it. It may not be cheap (you’ll pay £80k for a V8 F-Type) and it may be heavier than its lightweight aluminium underpinnings promise, but it looks great, goes very well and seems to have proper Jaguar ‘Soul’. A winning combination.
Seat at the Paris motor show 2008
Thu, 02 Oct 2008By Ben Whitworth Motor Shows 02 October 2008 15:12 Seat wheeled out its feisty new Ibiza Cupra – all 180bhp of it – and followed it up by its new old A4-based Exeo, and topped off its show with its ultra-clean Ibiza Ecomotive. Penned by ex-Lamborghini designer Luc Donkerwolcke, the Cupra is the first Ibiza that we’ve really warmed to. On its chunky 17-inch alloys, aggressive body kit and go-faster details, it looks far closer to the Bocanegra concept we saw in Geneva at the start of the year. And that’s a good thing.
