For your consideration is an original Wig-Wag tail light, complete with all brackets, that was used as OEM on Studebaker and Hudson models. IT was an accessory tail light that was made available in 1935 on 1936 model year cars. the concept behind the light was for the lantern portion to swing when the brake pedal was depressed which would alert the driver following a car that the preceding car was slowing thereby drawing more attention to the driver. these are rather difficult accessories to find and look amazing when featured on a car. This particular one is all there and complete with e rare mounting bracket. All vaccuum and electric lines are present and gaskets inside to allow to swing properly. All this will need is chrome to be perfect. Both glass lenses are in tact and are not scratched chipped or cracked. I do have an original Dua-Saf tag that will go with the sale. Happy to email additional pictures if necessary. Please ask any questions.

EyesOn design awards 2012 winners announced at NAIAS

Tue, 10 Jan 2012

The Detroit-based EyesOn Design competition winners have just been announced at their traditional time, late on the second press day of the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The jury, which this year included Ralph Giles (Chrysler), Derek Jenkins (Mazda), Lorenzo Ramaciotti (Fiat/Chrysler), Peter Schreyer (Kia) and Franz Von Holzhausen (Tesla) had a much greater array of products to choose from than in recent years; this is a somewhat rejuvenated Detroit auto show. From the cars on display at the show, the judges shortlisted the Ford Fusion, BMW 3-Series and Cadillac ATS for the best production car award.

Nissan’s upmarket Infiniti brand officially launched its European range in Geneva, essentially a slimlined and simplified interpretation of its US model line-up: G37 coupe and saloon, EX37 coupe crossover and an all-new V8 coupe crossover to sit at the top of the range: the FX50. The latter model is essentially a scaled up EX37, though the nose treatment is notably bluffer and, to our eyes, a little too severe.

Koenigsegg backs out of deal to buy Saab

Swedish exotic-car maker Koenigsegg Group has canceled plans to buy Saab from General Motors. GM announced that the deal was off on Tuesday and gave no reason why the deal fell apart, nor did the automaker say what would happen to Saab. In a statement, GM CEO Fritz Henderson said: "We're obviously very disappointed with the decision to pull out of the Saab purchase.
