Here's a rare nos genuine Harley 2.2 gallon Sportster gas tank that fits up to and including 1978.  Notice it is for the later, after 1974 petcock but will physically fit earlier years Sportsters.  Inside has no rust and has the original factory primer wash coating in excellent condition.  Also notice it has a vent tube so I guess it can be used with earlier Tillotson carbs.  Petcock threads are perfect as pictured.  Tank is in mint condition, just peeled out of the factory vacuum packaging.  I always package my items carefully for safe, undamaged shipping.  I had this for a 1978 XLH project that I'll be parting out since I have just too many projects.  Keep an eye on my listings as I'm parting with some nice vintage Harley parts.

Porsche uses phone-formatted bar codes to connect with customers

Tue, 12 Jul 2011

Porsche is harnessing the power of smartphones, using Microsoft Tag bar codes to provide dealership customers with unique information about the cars they're looking at. Buyers can scan the square stickers with a properly equipped phone, and the application will take them to dedicated microsites where they can see stats, videos and pictures of the car, along with audio clips of a flat-six engine revving up. Through the microsite, buyers can provide contact info for a follow-up call from Porsche salespeople.

The Office for National Statistics released a report earlier this year examining the impact of commuting patterns on people’s levels of anxiety, happiness and satisfaction. For journeys up to 30 minutes there was no negative effect on levels of happiness or anxiety for those who rode a motorcycle, moped or scooter to work.

Higher gas prices? Blame ethanol

Fri, 04 Apr 2014

MarketWatch reported today that the price of ethanol has seen a 30-percent price increase so far this year, taking the price of gasoline up with it, since a good majority of "gasoline" sold today is around 10 percent ethanol. The average price of a gallon of gas today is $2.30, according to FactSet data, but this has varied since the beginning of 2014. Despite the recent surge, ethanol prices have also proved to be rather volatile with reports of it dropping 8 percent this past Thursday after falling 10 percent just the day before.
