Honda Vezel urban SUV crossover stars at the Tokyo Motor Show 2013

Honda has unveiled its take on the burgeoning compact crossover sector at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, and it’s called the Vezel. You can do your own jokes, but rest assured it won’t be called that once it reaches the UK sometime in 2015. It’s based on the same platform as the all-new Honda Fit, the car we know as the Jazz, and will go on sale in Japan this December.

Volkswagen joins Global Rallycross with Foust and Speed

The biggest splash at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show might have been made by Volkswagen on Thursday. The giant German automaker, along with Andretti Autosport, unveiled its 560-hp, all-wheel-drive Global Rallycross Beetle. GRC champion Tanner Foust will pilot the first car while ex-Formula One driver Scott Speed will helm the second.

The S63 and S65 don’t have any more muscle than before, but are slightly greener thanks to tweaks to their engine management systems. Under the bonnet you’ll find the same 518bhp 6.2-litre V8 or 604bhp 6.5-litre V12 as before.
