The MDes Design Practices scheme will focus upon transportation design issues in China, as well as the growing economies of Asia. The ten month program aims to familiarize students with the emerging trends and issues that are directly impacting and influencing transport in the Peoples Republic.

The most recent advance in vehicle safety has to be the autonomous emergency braking system (AEB) – a sophisticated suite of sensors and electronics that monitors objects in front of your car, automatically applying the brakes for you if it senses you’re heading to hit something. Up until now these auto-brake features have not been rated, but ahead of a new 2014 test that will include AEB systems in its overall safety star scoring, Euro NCAP has put the some of the vehicles already equipped with this technology through their paces. The Subaru Impreza WRX STI launches in Japan Subaru has announced a limited run of 400  Subaru Impreza WRX STI 205 which will go on sale in Japan. It won’t please Subaru Impreza nuts in the UK as they’ll get no chance to get their hands on one, but for those in Japan it’s great news. Unlike the rather lame Subaru WRX STI Carbon (or Impreza Pipe & Slippers as we like to think of it), the R205 is hard-core. Subaru has plucked a chunk of bits from the ‘Spec C’ bin to create the R205.
