Land Rover reaches coldest inhabited place on Earth
Wed, 22 Jan 2014Despite the second snowpocalypse of the year and the reappearance of the polar vortex, the American Midwest and Northeast are not the coldest places in the world right now, contrary to what you might have felt this morning during your commute. So the Petsmart parking lot in Schenectady, New York is going to have have to have to get a few degrees colder if it wants to make it in the Guinness Book of Records. Footballers 'prefer Range Rovers'
Tue, 12 Aug 2014RANGE ROVERS are a clear favourite among Premiership footballers, according to a firm specialising in high-value car finance. Oracle Finance has revealed that 28 Range Rovers and 24 Range Rover Sports on its books feature a footballer as the registered keeper, making the British band's motors by far the most popular. The second most popular individual model is the Bentley Continental GT, with 26 ongoing purchases funded by Oracle, but that only totals half the combined number of Range Rovers in the survey.
Alfa Romeo 4C Spider revealed: Geneva Motor Show
Tue, 04 Mar 2014The Alfa Romeo 4C Spider (pictured) revealed in Geneva The Alfa Romeo 4C is the epitome of a modern ‘supercar’, with ultra light weight (for a production car) allowing the 4C to produce very good performance from its modest 17500cc engine. So producing an Spider convertible immediately raises the weight issue in a more dramatic way when the car’s abilities are so dependent on it low weight, but it seems the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider – previewed as a production car with a concept at Geneva today – has managed to keep the wight penalties of the convertible 4C down to a minimum. Thanks to a canvas roof and carbon fibre rollover bars, the weight penalty for the Spider is only about 60kg (around a 7 per cent gain) which shouldn’t hurt performance too much.
