GM returns to the Super Bowl, new ads upcoming for the Camaro and Cadillac
Sun, 08 Aug 2010If there's one thing Joel Ewanick has made clear since joining General Motors Co. three months ago, it's that he doesn't let grass grow under his feet. And the company's vice president of marketing isn't slowing down anytime soon: In a wide-ranging interview with Advertising Age, an affiliate of AutoWeek, Ewanick let drop that the automaker will return to the Super Bowl in 2011; that an ad campaign will break next month for the Chevy Camaro; and that there's a new tagline coming for Cadillac, "The new standard for the world." The market for top-end cars had frozen at the exact time that P1 most desperately needed the dosh.Eventually the banks called the loans in, as they had identified the supercar market as wobbly business they didn't want during a banking crisis.
Citroen C1 ev’ie Electric Car launched
Thu, 30 Apr 2009The Citroen C1 ev'ie - the UK's first proper all electric car - launched today Based (obviously) on Citroen’s baby C1, the C1 ev’ie aims to be as car-like as possible, but offering all the economies (and most of the drawbacks!) of an electric car. The donor cars are supplied by Citroen UK and the company claims that 50% of the value of the car is generated in the UK with the conversion to all electric drive. Designed to have a range of 60-70 miles this is a city car, pure and simple.
