REAL BOEING 737 THROTTLE QUADRANT
This throttle quadrant was removed from N332UA, a Boeing 737-322 airframe that was manufactured in 1988 and flew with United Airlines for 20 years before being sold for scrap in 2008. I bought the nose section from this airframe in 2011 and have been busy converting it to a fixed base simulator in the basement of my home. I’ve spent the past two years cutting it into small enough pieces to fit through the door. You can read about my project here.
This throttle quadrant differs from many others you will find on the market in that it was removed in the proper way, by accessing the bolts holding it to the floor from the underside of the flight deck. Most real quadrants that come along are removed hastily by salvage crews by cutting the structure at the base from inside the cockpit, which results in a project that needs substantial metal work (TIG welding) in order to restore it to the accurate dimensions. The unit I am offering for sale is completely intact at the base, so the only metal work needed will be that required for interfacing.
This unit is complete except for the plastic fairing that covers the speed brake microswitch, which is cracked as shown in one of the photos. I have no way of testing this unit other than to make sure all the levers move freely, which they do.
The unit is ready for restoration and interfacing. I will accept returns but the buyer is responsible for return shipping charges as well as any eBay/Paypal fees incurred.
As I already own a real Boeing throttle quadrant converted by Northern Flight Sim, I do not need this unit.
I am happy to ship worldwide. Offered at $2500 USD plus shipping. The package is 31 x 20 x 16 inches and weighs 86 pounds. Buyers outside the US responsible for all shipping charges, customs duties and taxes. To determine your shipping charges, use the shipping calcuator. This item cannot be shipped via US Postal Service because it exceeds the 70 pound limit. I accept payment via Paypal or bank wire.

Toyota ends powertrain deal with Tesla
Wed, 14 May 2014To the surprise of no one, Toyota has announced the end of a partnership with Tesla that gave rise to the slow-selling RAV4 EV, which will be replaced by a fuel cell car next year. Toyota has said that it can't meet California's zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) mandate profitably with electric cars, but it thinks it can make money, or at least not lose so much of it, with fuel cells. Toyota signed a $100 million joint development deal in 2011 with Tesla, to build powertrains for its RAV4 EV.

The Bloodhound SSC's cabin is cramped and looks more like the cockpit of a Eurofighter jet than a car.
