Fiat S.p.A.'s boss has confirmed that the automaker wants to form an alliance with General Motors' German subsidiary Opel. "Now we have to concentrate on Opel. They are our perfect partner," CEO Sergio Marchionne told Fiat-owned newspaper La Stampa in a story published Friday.

Fiat has updated the Panda for 2010 Underrated though the Panda is, it’s actually a pretty good little car. Sure, it’s not exactly dynamic, but some of it’s iterations – particularly the go-anywhere Panda Cross 4×4 - are very good. So Fiat has decided it’s time for a bit of spit and polish and some new make-up, so it’s given the Panda a bit of an update for 2010.

After the overwhelming success of its European and North American interactive design competitions, GM and Car Design News are excited to announce the launch of their first competition exclusively for the Chinese market, the CDN–GM/PATAC Interactive Design Competition China. According to Bryan Nesbitt, Vice President of Design at GM International Operations, "We are excited about the potential regarding a China-dedicated competition. Design is the initial product differentiator in the automotive retail space, so demand for top design talent will continue."
