Driven: BMW 6 Series convertible
Fri, 26 Aug 2011Every large BMW coupe – from the E9 3.0 CS, through the shark-nosed E24 6 Series, Claus Luthe's beautiful E31 8 Series, right up to the outgoing, Bangle-era E63 6er – has had an exoticism beyond every other car in the brand's range. We drove the latest from the most southern point of Europe back to our London office to find out if it too is a truly Grand Tourer. The original Cayenne Diesel always seemed a bit of a let-down for a Porsche, even a diesel Porsche. The market imperative was there, no doubt, but the performance was not exactly stunning.
Warning for 'morning after' drivers
Tue, 10 Dec 2013MOTORIST DON'T KNOW when it is safe to drive the morning after drinking, according to an AA/Populus survey. As many as 56% of the 21,165 surveyed were unaware of the "morning-after" dangers, with those from north east and north west the biggest culprits, the poll found. In the survey, drivers were asked that if they started drinking at 9pm and drank a total of 12 units of alcohol over three hours when they thought they would legally be allowed to drive again.
