So each April they gather a fine collection of both at the airport at Half Moon Bay, Calif., and open the gates.

Called the Cosworth Impreza STI CS400, Subaru promises its four-wheel drive hot hatch will have ‘supercar-humbling pace’ and, presumably, be quick enough to match the Mitsubishi Evo X FQ-400 too. Near enough – this Cosworth-tweaked Impreza has 400PS.

Bugatti wanted to tackle the Deutsch de la Meurthe Cup Race -- the brainchild of one Henri Deutsch de la Meurthe, the wealthy petroleum businessman who birthed Europe's oil industry in his native France.
