Up for sale, one rebuilt Original Equipment Manufacture Harley-Davidson Linkert M-88 carburetor, stock for later 1941 and all 1942 WLA Flatheads, 1942 to 1943 WLC's and 1949 to early 1951 WLA's, but can be used on any Harley with an 1 1/4"  three bolt manifold. It has the original Olive Drab Green paint with a few chips here and there, so I didn't media blast it. This carb has been completely dis-assembled, cleaned, with all fuel circuits and air passages blown out. It was then re-assembled with new gaskets, new throttle shaft bushings, an NOS throttle shaft, an NOS throttle disc, an NOS choke lever, a new brass float, a new main nozzle spring, and a new float bowl nut assembly. Although new, all brass floats are tested for leakage before installation. The high speed needle is the civilian version, which makes for easier adjustment. All the threaded holes and mounting surfaces are good. Overall condition is shown in the photos (use the 'zoom' feature for close-up views). It's ready to bolt up, adjust and run on your Flathead. Over 135 Linkert carburetors rebuilt with no problems or returns. Please ask any questions before bidding.

Fri, 16 Nov 2012

The Autumn edition of Car Design News' quarterly interior design magazine Interior Motives is out now, featuring in-depth explorations of the very best interior designs from the recent Beijing, Paris and Moscow auto show Stories include the ground-breaking first concept from the newly launched, China-only Denza brand, created by Daimler and BYD to tap into the growing desire for luxury family cars, and Audi's Crosslane Coupé, which showcases the marque's new design philosophy. Also included in the latest edition is the full story behind the all-new Range Rover – widely considered to be the best SUV ever built – and the innovative Onyx concept shown by Peugeot at the Paris motor show. Combined with an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the development of Lada's XRay (a stake in the ground by new design boss Steve Mattin) and a report from the 2012 Interior Motives Design Awards, the Autumn issue is essential reading for anyone working in automotive design.

Bernie Ecclestone wants Saab – Spyker make new bid

Fri, 08 Jan 2010

Bernie Ecclestone is behind the Genii bid for Saab I think if we tried really hard we could be doing at least one story a day on the saga that is the sale of Saab by GM. There’s no point re-hashing the history – if you read here regularly you’ll have had your fill of the story that’s more like a Soap Opera than a business deal, but if you want all the back stories just look under Saab. But now – at the 11th hour – we have two new bits to add to the story.
