soapbox wheelset go kart gokart parade art car 4 wheels drum brakes! This is a VERY special set of wheels that we made a few years ago for a soapbox car project. They did not
end up on the final design and were only used for about two miles during a test run. These wheels are VERY STRONG and are made of thick cast Aluminum alloy. When combined; they should be able to easily carry upwards of five hundred pounds without any problems. “RED BULLSOAP BOX” “GRAVITY CAR” “ART CAR” “BURNING MAN” “PARADE FLOAT” Whatever kind of unpowered car or kart you are making; the first thing you’re going to need is a really good set of wheels; these wheels are IT! Make no mistake; these are VERY heavy duty wheels; do your homework and check all of the available options and you’ll see; these wheels are the real deal ! These wheels were originally front wheels from Tomos and Motobecane mopeds; so they are rated for high speed and high load use AND have integral drum brakes! The original puny bearings were removed and each wheel was carefully machined on both sides to accept two large 1 3/8” OD sealed bearings which have 5/8” axle holes! These wheels will NOT collapse under side loading like so many spoked wheels do! The tires still have the casting nubs on them and have seen almost no use. Each wheel includes the original drum brake assembly which are in great condition (the edge of one brake plate has a minor/ easy to fix bend) The listing price is only a fraction of what we have invested in them! This auction includes four(4) complete wheels; two w/ yellow tires and 2 w/ blue tires. Each complete wheel assembly weighs approximately 7.9 lbs The assembled wheel hubs are approximately 3 ½” wide Each wheel is approximately 20” tall and 2” wide Each wheel includes the following features: 1 EA New Tire 20 X 1.95 (either blue or yellow) w/ inner tube 2 EA Heavy
duty sealed bearings for 5/8” axle 1 EA Drum
brake plate assembly complete 1 EA internal
brake plate spacer (we also have
several matching wheels that have integral sprockets which are taller and have not been machined for the large bearings) FREE SHIPPING |

Nissan Leaf electric vehicle headed for U.S. market in 2010
Sat, 01 Aug 2009Nissan has taken the wraps off its production-bound electric vehicle, named Leaf, that is plans to sell in Japan, the United States and Europe. The Leaf seats five and measures 175 inches long--about the same size as a Versa sedan. It uses an 80-kilowatt AC electric motor and draws from a laminated lithium-ion battery pack--the same type of batteries used by cellular telephones and laptop computers.
Hamilton wins Singapore Grand Prix
Sun, 27 Sep 2009Lewis Hamilton take victory for a resurgent McLaren at Singapore The biggest losers of the day were probably Red Bull, who failed miserably to take advantage of Button’s poor grid position (and that of Barrichello, who started in 10th after a five place penalty for a new gearbox). Vettel managed to damage his car on the kerbs and acquired a drive-through penalty after crossing the white line exiting the pits. Team mate Webber’s brakes gave up on lap 49 and he went home with nothing to show for all his efforts in Singapore.
Formula One: Whitmarsh says McLaren won't give up on 2011
Fri, 21 Oct 2011McLaren-Mercedes team boss Martin Whitmarsh says his team wants to win the remaining races of this season while also taking the opportunity to test development parts for its 2012 car. Whitmarsh says that the conclusion of both the drivers' and constructors' title battles--with Red Bull Racing claiming both crowns--has made no difference to McLaren's approach. “There's not been a great distinction,” Whitmarsh said on Friday ahead of next weekend's inaugural Indian Grand Prix.
